Additional controls on Organic Turmeric

Effective from 18th March 2024, are additional controls on Organic Turmeric (in fresh, dried or powdered form) from India imported under CN codes 0910 30 00 for 12 months.


This will apply to shipments arriving in GB after 18th March 2024 until 18th March 2025.

Port Health have been advised of the following by DEFRA Organics Team: “Sampling of organic turmeric product from India should be initiated by Port Health on arrival at the arrival point Border Control Post (BCP). Port Health should take samples of the imported consignment and organise analysis for pesticides"
