Germany Border Controls

Updated: Oct 25, 2024

13th September 2024

Germany has announced that it will implement stricter controls along its land borders with France, Belgium, the Netherlands, Denmark and Luxembourg from the 16th of September, with the measures set to remain in place for at least six months.

Controls are being introduced as a "last resort" to protect national security and prevent irregular migration following a series of deadly knife attacks by migrants.
