9th March 2024

Please be advised that new import controls are set to be introduced on 30/04/2024 for plastic kitchenware imported via the EU.

If you import plastic kitchenware from China or Hong Kong into the EU that is subject to checks this new change may affect you, please note the below goods that will potentially be effected.

  • Plastic Kitchenware (polyamide/ melamine) manufactured or consigned from countries other than China and Hong Kong

  • Plastic (not in contact with food) manufactured or consigned from China or Hong Kong

  • Plastic kitchenware from China or Hong Kong not made of polyamide or melamine

PDD notifications will have to be made to the individual PHA at the port of entry as IPAFFS is not currently available for food-contact materials.
